Adventure Cruise Holiday Club! – Day 3

Main logo

Today we embarked on our penultimate expedition across the 4 C’s aboard HMS Whitton! Having passed through the C of Choice on Monday and the C Courage yesterday, we now had to steer our way through the C of Call. Spirits were high among the shipmates and once again we had a ship full of excited children ready to go on the Adventure Cruise!

As ever, John Hardwick opened our day with a fun and energetic introduction, including the Adventure Cruise theme song and a recap of Monday and Tuesday’s memory verses. After a quick sing-a-long with the music team, John’s cheeky, naughty, mischievous monkey friend Charlie paid us a visit, with another tale from his exciting life. But before our sailors even had time settle down, we were back on our feet learning today’s memory verse! This one reminded us Romans 10:13 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. Once that was ingrained in our memories and we’d burnt off some more energy, it was time to move on to the next part of the day.

Now, the enthralling saga of the Watt family continued, and we picked up right where we left off with Grandma at the hands of the criminal pirates, while Rick and Wendy were searching all over the place for her. Today, we saw that it wasn’t one big game after all and Grandma really was in big trouble! Meanwhile, Rick and Wendy were really starting to get worried and even though the Captain had reassured them that there were no pirates on his ship, he later realised that there actually were when he found a ransom note signed from the ‘Cross & Skull’. Will Grandma escape the hands of the naughty pirates and what else will the villains get up to while on board the luxury cruise liner? Find out tomorrow in the finale of the Watt Family drama!

DSCN5593Next, we split into our groups for the activity time of the day. Today’s craft involved making clay figures of the children’s choice to really bring out the creative side of our sailors! In the games, there was lots fun playing some more sea-based games, with the children having to climb the riggin’, scrub the decks and stand to attention to really get the blood pumping! After all that, there was some pretty tired shipmates, so group time was spent tucking into a drink and biscuit while doing some smaller activities.

With the bulk of the day over, we all gathered ourselves back together for the last part of the day. First, the children had to think back to remember all the things that had happened today, with the daily quiz! Lot’s of points were earned for there respective teams here, and the totals will be revealed tomorrow… Just before the sun set on another marvelous voyage, there was time for John to tell us the bible story. This time, the story was from Luke chapter 18, where a blind man calls out to Jesus to have mercy on him and despite the crowds negative jeers, Jesus healed the man from his blindness.

Well, unfortunately we have nearly reached the end of our Adventure Cruise Holiday Club! Just one more day left now, including the special finale tomorrow evening where all the parents are invited to join us on our voyage until 5pm, followed by lovely food afterwards. Hopefully see you all tomorrow for our final voyage across the 4 C’s!
