Now back in our building!

Building opened

Well, after 8 months, we are back in our building. Praise God for all that has been acheived.

It’s been a long, hard slog. We are grateful to Whitton Primary School for the use of their building, but it’s good to be home in ours. Many people have given enormous amounts of time, unpaid, to help us get there. Many others have contributed financially to help make this a reality. The full reward will be in heaven, but seeing the fruit of our labours is pretty great too!

This is what we’ve done as part of this first phase:

  • Completely refurbished main hall including…
    • Removal of the existing platform and rotating our main meeting room through 90 degrees
    • New PA, stage lighting and projection systems, and control area
    • Lots of new insulation
    • New windows
  • New roof over the main part of the building
  • New entrance lobby including front doors and windows
  • Much improved wheelchair access
  • Creation of additional office / meeting room space
  • Improved heating controls
  • Compleltely refurbished toilets
  • Improvements to the front wall
  • Video-monitoring of services for the creche
  • Intruder alarm, CCTV, fire alarm systems and emergency lighting
  • Various changes to prepare the way for the next phase of the project
  • New signage

In the end, it’s only a building, so we don’t want to get too excited. The church is the people really. But even so, it’s good to celebrate good things, and this is a very good thing.

We would love you to join us for the grand opening on Saturday 14th September – lots more details to follow. If you can’t wait that long, we’re here every Sunday, morning and evening.

Soli Deo Gloria.
